Just for the record Dunloy played their Ulster Intermediate Football final in Healey Park Omagh. Just to avoid confusion

Good luck to the two teams in the junior hurling championship, maybe to strong for the competition or maybe not as we showed. We`ll be be back next year stronger!

I have been thinking for a while and can't understand it. On the programme for the u21 final on Wednesday night it said Conor Laverty from Cloughmills was playing 9. Knowing Conor well enough I am pretty sure he does not have a baldy head and he looked a bit bigger? Was that actually Conor and if not who was it? Never seen that player before...

Conor was listed at NO 9 but he did not play.

As an Erne county man living in Antrim i still don't think your'e as good as Fermanagh but thats just my opinion. Good luck next season by the way. Then you will be able to tell how good you really are.

Yes i do believe that it does help because Loughgiel don't play football and St.Johns is predominately still a football club. I do acknowledge they are strong at both but history does tell us that this is where most success ha been achieved. Anyway when is the last time a football match was played in Loughgiel let alone a game involving a county team. Come on adminstrator don't be so foolish. All in the best possible taste none the less.

I think that you will find that Ulster Club football championship games have been played at Loughgiel in the last few years.I am sure Dunloy played their game there

Think this casement v loughguile debate has been blown out of porportion. I dont mind where the finals are being played. 1000 at loughguile would generate a far better atmosphere than at casement. Im sure the winners wont mind where they pick up the trophy.

I don't think many county games will be going to corrigan, the last time I was there the old stand had been condemed

If it helps, I think that Corrigan is the secondary County ground for football and Loughiel is the secondary County ground for hurling..

Does that mean that hurling cant be held at Corrigan and vice versa? The are County grounds full stop!

as a hurler for one of the teams taking part in the final I am very dissapointed that the final as well as the ihc final is going to be played at loughiel and not casement. Who cares about the distance you have to travel to get to the match, I agree with previous post that suggest that casement is our croke. We work hard all year to get to the final and you would think that maybe that would be our time in the spotlight at casement. No disrespect to loughiel and their pitch, its just that there is something special about playing at casement infront of the grandstand on a pitch that many of the countries greatest hurlers have graced. Im sure if you ask either of the teams where they would rather play, they will not care, but inside they will say casement every time.

The late andy mccallion told me casement was a provincal ground and corrigan was offically the only county ground. When was the status changed and which body has the power to change this?

Your correct,Casement is a Provincial ground, but both Loughgiel & Corrigan are secondary County Grounds as per the Comhairle Uladh hand book. Its they who designated the status of a ground.

The St Brigid´s - St Gall´s game took place on 8th July and finished a draw at 0.10-0.10. St Brigids therefore have 12 points from 16 games, after been beaten by Cargin by 1 point in Toomebridge on 29 July.

Good luck to both teams in the final.
Loughgiel is a super pitch.
Any previous posts were not the work of a CMills man but a wind up merchant.
Please will the moderator not put up such pre championship game stuff on here - should be left to other sites for that!
Cheers.

Last night's under 21 hurling final was similar in many ways to the Antrim v Cork game on Sunday. Up to the final minutes, Armagh were able to match Antrim, score for score, and young Mc Kernan from Middleton gave a wonderful display of freetaking. The final score, in my opinion, gives a wrong impression of the quality hurling played last night by both teams. It's great to see another county in Ulster on the way up in the hurling world. It's good news of course for Antrim also. Last night the Armagh lads brought the best out of our own heroes. I hope Armagh continues to provide worthwhile competition. Congratulations to both teams for providing such an enjoyable evening for us all.
