Hello,
With regard to the referee issue. My cub failed to have anyone present at the meeting at casement and I have it on good authority that our club has up to four referees. Im taking it that this policy of registration of ref's by the date of the meeting is not set in stone. If my club has to play all of our games away from home then I envisage drastic consequences.

The item in the News section is quite clear. If referees were not present, then they have not completed the in-service course and are ineligible. The article also states that queries on this should be directed through club secretaries to CCC. Not having any home fixtures is drastic consequences enough anyway, but what else you are referring to is baffling us?

So if all the clubs in 4a&4b asked the county to make a 1 Div 4 League would they listen?

Of course they would - they would be talking to themselves!! County Committee is the clubs - how can we make that any clearer!!

At first when I looked at feast or famine I thought he was a bit nuts however when i thought abount it some of the ideas are not to far of the mark. Playing end of season meaningless matches in October or November is one thing but playing a first round league proper with all our county players on board with no county interference is another . feast or famine maybe not such a hopeless case says St Jude

That still fails to address the likelihood that there won't have to be refixes of this year's leagues and that some clubs will still be in championship.

No all I want is for my club to try and keep Hurling alive in our community and show the younger kids that Soccer is not the only sport. ????

What would I like done about only playing 8 games in a so called League structure for the CCC to say ok we will make an 8 team Division 4 League?

But you don't seem to understand that you wanting this on an internet guestbook won't get it done. It's not up to CCC to change it; that's the responsibility of County Committee which is the clubs, of which your club is a member!!

I would just like to echo the points raised by Feast or Famine, 8 or 10 matches should not be classified as a League for any club who is trying to promote there NATIONAL game. I personally think that this is a joke as I have 18 lads under the age of 24 trying to play Hurling and Hurling only.

Well then, why didn't you do something about it before league fixtures were produced? And that wasn't his/her point anyway. At least he/she is suggesting something for the future, all you want to do is girn about things that have passed for which nothing can be done.

It's good to see so many lads from non traditional hurling clubs on the County Minor panel for 2010.

Clubs and Players complain about playing football in Sept, Oct and Nov WHY?
I can understand hurling not been played in these months but not football

2 The 3 teams carrying the Antrim flag in the Ulster football championship.

3 games Max if they win ulster.
So 3 Sunday's lost between Sept and end of Nov . What are those big lights at Casement for 3 midweek competitive fixtures for three clubs
what better preparation would you want..
How many times did St Galls play (Friendly games) under lights at Casey on the run up to the All Ireland Semi final .

Now answer my original question that has prompted all this do you think 10 hurling games constitutes a League

10 hurling games must be satifactory to the participants in this league - there were no suggestions or request to change this. Now, you carry on in your delusional state about everything else but we think you have demonstrated clearly enough now that you have gone bonkers. Sin e.

In response to 'Feast or Famine' - I think you must be a few sandwiches short of a picnic! Your idea is not only brainless but it is blinkered towards hurling beyond belief.
There have been many idiotic posts on this guestbook but that one really takes the biscuit!!

All Antrim club championships hurling and football would be complete by the end of September 2010 and only 3 clubs would be affected if starting the football leagues for 2011 at the end of Sept 2010 and they would be the competing teams in the Ulster championship at Junior, inter, and senior.

You mention the word CRAZY

I will tell you what is CRAZY staring a league on the 21 April and finishing it on the 2nd weekend of August with 8 of those games not played on a Sunday and calling it a league.

Now lets start thinking outside the box.

I am looking forward to other comments imagine playing Gaelic football 7 months of a 12 month period Sept,Oct, Nov 2010 March April May June 2011 and hurling 6 months from April to Sept 2011 instead of everything packed into 5 months.

I want you to understand this is not a dig at the county I support my county hurling and football and had great days last year and look forward to same 2010.
This is how the players feel on the ground.

Now send your posts in everybody do you think Feast or Famine is CRAZY

The number of complaints from clubs and club players about having to play matches after September completely negates your suggestion. Do you think that we should exempt the 3 clubs involved in the Ulster championships, or is should they be expected to play their league mattches anyway? Why do you think these arrangements are in place now anyway?

I am a hurler for my club in Div 4A and I am just wondering is there a rule detailing how many fixtures you must play in a year to call it a season. 10 games surely this is not enough. I might add this is the 2nd year in a row we have had 10 games,I was told last year by a club official that we only got 10 games last year because Lamh Dhearg pulled out of the league. Also the cost to my club £100 per game in insurance. I know you might say Divisional boards offer games but these games are played on a Monday Night and in the same period of time as all county fixtures April to August. To organize fixtures must be a nightmare and this is just a suggestion. What would be wrong if we as it appears from the Fixture List that the leagues will be finished by the end of Aug. So start the 2011 football season on the last week of Sept 2010 and play the 1st round of games off by the end of November and then start 2nd round in march 2011 and have them played by end of May, all games played on weekend days. Start the huring Mid April and mid week and play right through until end of August. Play your Junior an intemediate football c/ships off in May and June Friday and Sat nights and move any dual club's Sunday hurling league game to the Monday night. Play the senior football in August (county players mostly play for senior clubs) so play their football c/ship in August and play all hurling c/ship games Sen, Inter and Junior in September over a 4 week period use sat nights before all ireland Sundays. Unless of course Antrim are in both finals now that would be a headache. I know you will pick holes in this however if All County fixtures are played on weekends days only, except for the month of April that gives you 40 dates to play all county games and no dual club plays more that 35 fixtures. Then all divisional board games could be played on Wednesday nights, football one week hurling the next.

We will let others tell you how crazy this is - beginning with starting next year's leagues this September. Have you heard of championship?
