A chara
Gaelic Games and culture continues to enjoy nationwide renaissance and Antrim is no exception to this trend. We have more people actively involved in our Association than ever before and our teams, both at club and county level, are producing results which have created an enthusiasm and pride in our county which hasn’t been evidenced for many years. In order to ensure that this revival continues at a winning pace, Antrim GAA needs greater financial support, in order to meet the needs and demands of all codes at all levels and in every possible area and to prepare for the challenges of the future.
Last year saw a new standard set for fundraising in the county with the Raceday proving to be a fi nancial success as well as a hugely enjoyable corporate networking event and the Saffron Sweep drawing on support from within clubs and supporters in Antrim and far beyond. With the support of the business community, we aim to ensure that the Raceday is even more successful in 2008.
The Saffron Sweep aims to generate funds that will be immediately directed at the core of the GAA in Antrim, which will help teams compete at the top level in football and hurling. In partnership with our clubs and other units within the county, we aim to raise in excess of £200,000 through this initiative, with the view of providing correct training facilities at all levels and across all codes. We want to invest in our greatest assets, our players. We want to develop their skills and abilities and ensure that Antrim teams can not only compete but be competitive with the best across the country.
To be still in competition in Dublin in September across all codes every year, must no longer be a dream but a goal for everyone who has Antrim GAA in their hearts. Ni neart go cur le cheile.
Thank you for your continued support and good luck in the Saffron Sweep. Go raibh maith agat Is mise le meas
