Antrim GAA Visit the Official Club Aontroma Website
As Gaeilge - Mí an Mheithimh 2007

Bhuel a chairde agus fáilte arais chuig an Saffron Óg as Gaeilge! Hi, and a big warm welcome back to all the readers of Saffron Óg!

Finn the Saffron Óg Football mascot Mí an Mheithimh is a very busy time in the hurling and football calender, as we all know very well! We have An Chraobh Iomána agus An Chraobh Peile.

Who's your tip to win Liam Mac Carthaigh this year? Cill Channigh? Corcaigh? Gaillimh? Or what about the Saffrons themselves, Aontroim?

Have you put a geall (bet) on any football teams to win Somhairle Mag Uidhir? As always Ciarraí have a good chance, agus tá seans maith ag Tír Eoghain agus ag Ard Mhacha. (and Tyrone and Armagh have a good chance as well).

Was anyone at the Ulster Hurling final, nuair a bhain Aontroim, when Antrim won? Bhí muid uilig fliuch báite (we were soaked to the skin) not to mention the poor imreoirí!

But what a difference a seachtain makes! The sun was splitting the stones in Casement, ach chaill Aontroim. But they put up a good fight, and I hope you were all there with your geansaí Aontroma!

But how could I forget! Mí an Mheithimh is the best month of all for all the school children! Beidh an scoil thart! School will be over, and then you go to the Cúl Camps, and play iomáint, peil agus camógaíocht until your heart is content! Nach méanar daoibh! Aren’t you all so lucky!

Sin é. Until next September ádh mór!
