Dia daoibh a chairde! Fáilte arais chuig eagrán eile den Saffron Óg as Gaeilge. Welcome back everyone, to another edition of Saffrón Óg as Gaeilge.
We are now into the long dark nights, agus bíonn an lá fuar, the days are cold too. All the games are more or less críochnaithe (over). We were just enjoying an samhradh agus an ghrian, and now an geimhreadh agus an sneachta is coming quickly!
One of the few comórtas left in the season is the Railway Cup. There is only ceithre fhoireann ann! There is only four teams involved. Cúige Uladh, Cúige Laighean, Cúige Chonnacht, agus Cúige Mumhan. Ulster, Leinster, Connacht and Munster.
In case you didn’t know Cúige actually comes from the word Cúig, in Irish, which means five. Now if we know our geography right there is really only four provinces in Ireland, but the Irish word for a province goes back to the time when there were five provinces!
Ar ndóigh, (of course) the club championships in Aontroim are críochnaithe. D’imir Loch gCaol agus Dún Láthaí san iomáint, agus d’imir Port Chluain Eoghain agus Naomh Gall sa pheil. Bhain Dún Láthaí agus Naomh Gall.
Tá súil agam gur bhain sibh sult agus tairbhe as an eagrán seo (I hope you enjoyed and benefited from this latest edition), idir an dá linn, Ádh mór oraibh!
